Just yourself and two trees! Each Nakie hammock comes standard with no knot straps and carabiners for an easy no fuss set up. You do not need any extra equipment. Setting up your own hammock is very easy. Our current record is 27 seconds! With our no fuss straps and carabiners you won’t need to tie a single knot. Setting up a Nakie hammock is straightforward. Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps: - Find Two Anchor Points: Look for two sturdy trees (or posts) about 10-15 feet apart. Ensure they’re healthy and can support your weight—trees should be at least 6 inches in diameter to avoid damage or risk - Loop the Straps: Take the provided tree straps and wrap each one around a tree at about head height (around 5-6 feet up). Feed the end of the strap through its own loop and pull tight to secure it. Nakie hammocks come with reinforced straps designed to be tree-friendly, so they won’t harm the bark. - Attach the Hammock: Clip each end of the hammock to the straps using the included carabiner clips. Nakie straps have multiple loops, so you can adjust the tension by choosing different loops—start with one in the middle. - Test and Adjust: Sit in the hammock to check the height and comfort. The middle should hang about hip level, with the ends at head height, to create a cozy curve. If it’s too low or tight, adjust the clips on the straps or raise/lower the straps on the trees.
The Nakie hammock has been extensively tested and has a weight rating of 225kg or 500lbs. Our tree-friendly strap design also ensures that the straps will stay where you put them and won’t be sliding down the trees you use. Don’t believe us? Check out our youtube video where we loaded 300 kgs of concrete bags, plus two of our founders into a hammock without it breaking!
For sure! Our hammocks are designed to be ultra comfortable for a restful overnight sleep. The breathable recycled material will keep you cool through the Summer and you can add a puffy blanket to keep you cosy in cooler weather. They can be combined seamlessly with our bug nets and rain tarps if you’re not a fan of bug bites or camping in rainy weather. Studies have also shown that there are many health benefits of sleeping in a hammock, including deeper sleep, reduced muscle aches and less stress. The best part is you won’t have a stray rock digging into your back all night!
We recommend hand washing in cold water with a non bleaching product. Once washed remove from water and hang out to dry in the shade so you will be ready for your next adventure. Do not soak your hammock and please do not put your hammock into the dryer!
Our hammocks are 3m long by 1.8m wide making sharing your hammock an absolute dream. The extra width means you can easily fit two people and swing in the breeze together! If you are on the taller size you will love the extra width as it makes sure you can have a comfy solo sleep in our recycled hammocks!
You absolutely can! Your hammock can easily be set up on your deck or balcony between some posts, or if you’re on the move, using your roof racks or bullbar. If all you have is a wall, we sell sturdy and reliable anchor points that make setting up your hammock indoors or on your porch super easy.
