Why you should buy a Nakie blanket

The Nakie Puffy Blankets are our favourite outdoor accessory for cosy comfort. We love the snug feeling of a down jacket and wanted to recreate that feeling with an eco-friendly blanket alternative. Every Nakie product has to be functional, durable, sustainable and stylish. This is no easy feat, but we think we hit the mark with our puffy blankets. 

Our blankets are water resistant, silky soft and rated to 5 degrees Celsius. We know convenience is king when it comes to outdoor gear, so every blanket comes with a handy cape clip to let you go hands free and the blankets come with a convenient stuff sack carry bag - no more fights with sleeping bag covers! The total weight is 780 grams and the carry bag is 15cm x 40cm for easy storage in your backpack, car, caravan or cupboard.

Our puffy blankets use 500 grams of recycled plastic bottle fibres to create a 600 fill-power down rating and ensure you stay warm and cosy all night long. The blankets outer shell is made from 90/10 DWR fabric - this means that when our blanket was sprayed with water in testing 90% of the fabric remained dry AND the blankets water resistance was unchanged after 10 washes!

Our Nakie blanket is the perfect companion for your next night spent in a swag, hammock or tent. They are light and compact making them easy to pack and the hand-free clip lets you set up camp, relax by the fire or play games in warmth. They are also great for movie nights on the couch, evening hot cocoa on the porch or as a Saturday sport essential!

Frequently Asked Questions

To wash your blanket please use a cold machine wash with a non bleaching detergent. Once the blanket is washed to help it stay nice and puffy pop it in the tumble dryer on AIR DRY only with a couple of clean tennis balls.

Absolutely! Our blankets are made for both indoor and outdoor use and are great for use whilst sleeping in a tent or hammock when camping or hiking. Our blankets will keep you nice and warm and are rated to 5 degrees celsius (41 degrees fahrenheit).

Whilst our Nakie blankets are not 100% waterproof they are water resistant. he blankets outer shell is made from 90/10 DWR fabric - this means that when our blanket was sprayed with water in testing 90% of the fabric remained dry AND the blankets water resistance was unchanged after 10 washes! This also provides excellent stain resistance. In most cases water will bead off your blanket rather than being absorbed, unless it is fully submerged or completely saturated. This is usually more than enough protection from the elements and the blanket will easily handle some light showers or condensation.

The Cape Clip on all Nakie Blankets, gives you the freedom to wear your blanket as a cape while getting things done. Reading a book, roasting marshmallows or even drinking a beer. It allows you to stay cosy and warm whilst enjoying the outdoors.
